Meet neighbors, stay safe

Kindlio is built around trust between neighbors. These are the habits we recommend — and the tools we've built — so every exchange feels good.

Meet safely — every time

  • For your first meetup, choose a public place: a library, café, park, or community center.
  • If either of you prefers, keep it online. Video calls count as real exchanges.
  • Bring a friend to your first meetup — no explanation needed.
  • Tell someone you trust where you're going and when you'll be back.
  • Trust your gut. If something feels off, you can cancel any time — no reason required.

Sharing wisely

  • Never share your home address, keys, financial info, or ID.
  • Keep money exchanges simple — for paid skills, agree on price and method up front.
  • Don't feel pressured to say yes. A polite "not this time" is always OK.
  • Use Kindlio's built-in messaging until you've met and feel comfortable.

Red flags — walk away

  • Pressure to move the conversation off Kindlio right away.
  • Requests for money, gift cards, or your bank details.
  • Sudden, personal questions that have nothing to do with the skill.
  • Insisting on meeting somewhere private on the first exchange.
  • Comments that feel disrespectful, hostile, or discriminatory.

Reporting someone

If a listing, message, or neighbor feels wrong, tap the flag icon on their listing or message. Reports are private — the person you report isn't notified. Our team reviews every report.

In an emergency

Kindlio isn't a substitute for emergency services. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency line (911 in the US) before anything else.
